Grammar School GCSE success for all
Students at The Mercian Trust’s two selective grammar schools in Walsall, Queen Mary’s High School and Queen Mary’s Grammar School, are celebrating phenomenal success with all students achieving exceptionally high grades, no matter what their social background.
As the two most successful schools in the country at increasing the number of disadvantaged students in receipt of pupil premium in their cohorts, both schools are celebrating students achieving the highest grades at GCSE across their whole year groups.
An amazing 69% of all entries at both schools were graded 7 to 9, with 43% being the very top grades of 8 or 9. The difference between students who are in receipt of the Pupil Premium and those who aren’t is almost indistinguishable, demonstrating the social mobility mission of the schools and the trust to increase opportunities and improve outcomes for all.
